"The best rest and sumptuous breakfast ever! The mattress was absolutely fabulous and the food was out of this world! I loved the puffed pancake. So unique!" Sarah - Baltimore, MD

Hallauer House Bed& Breakfast
THE SOLDIER'S FOOD
Hardtack
A biscuit made of flour, water, and salt that would last for years if properly stored. Made with 16 holes punched with nail - 4 across and 4 down- exactly 1 inch apart. All soldiers were issued a half lb. of beans & peas, bacon, pickled beef, compressed mixed vegetables and a pound of hardtack. The hardtack was as hard as a brick and had to be broken with a rock and then soaked and fried.

The Dining Room
Crossing through the hallway brings you into the dining room where you can only guess as to the type of meal served in 1860.
Sit down, relax, and enjoy a complimentary four course breakfast each morning. Dine in formal elegance with fine china and sterling silver while you enjoy the informal atmosphere and the lively conversation between guests and hosts! Sometimes these conversations are so interesting that many guests forget the time and hesitate to leave!
When the sun shines and warms up the air, this formal elegance is transported out to the pool deck and breakfast can be enjoyed alongside the mini beach and warm inviting swimming pool.
